Benjamin Rawlins served as legal counsel and senior administrator for three distinct categories of higher education institutions:

  • North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University ( A leading Historical Black College and University (HBCU) which also offers doctoral programs)
  • Oregon University System (A state system of higher education) 
  • Meharry Medical College (A comprehensive medical center)

As the chief legal officer Benjamin Rawlins oversaw the policy development, implementation and advised decision makers. These experiences have formed the foundation of Rawlins' philosophy of "preventive law" and has formed the base to continue to work with institutions to achieve successful Title VII and Title IX programs with the goal of no liability determinations.
